Legacy Giving
The POWWW Legacy Group
A legacy gift is a way to commit to preserving our wetlands, water, and woods without financial impact in your lifetime.
A legacy gift is planned through a bequest in one's will.
A legacy gift can be specified as a dollar amount, a percentage of an estate, or land.
Since its inception, POWWW has continued to protect, enhance, and expand Jonathan’s Woods. The POWWW Legacy Group helps to ensure our goals for future generations.
Too often we hear stories of someone who wished to leave something to a favorite organization, but because it wasn’t in their will their intentions were never carried out.
If you have an existing will your attorney can prepare a codicil that enables your bequest to POWWW.
Sample language for a bequest:
“ I give and bequeath to POWWW (Protect Our Wetlands,Water, And Woods) a charitable 501(c)(3) Denville based non-profit open space organization PO Box 438, Denville NJ 07834 (the dollar amount/percentage of my estate) to be used for the organization’s general uses and purposes.
Please consider making the POWWW part of your estate planning by becoming a Legacy Group member.
If you decide to make a bequest, we would appreciate you notifying us of your intent. You can use our “Legacy Group Notification” form. The form is non binding. We will honor your wish as to whether to publicize your name or for you to remain anonymous.
